Erewash Borough Council Erewash borough covers an area of about 10.963 hectares (109.6 sq.km) and lies between Derby and Nottingham in the south east of Derbyshire. It takes its name from the River Erewash which flows down its eastern border.
Erewash is a borough of contrast, to the eastern side are the market towns of Ilkeston and Long Eaton, whilst the west is more rural with some isolated villages. The two large cities of Derby and Nottingham both border the borough, and have an influence on the area.

Pride In Erewash Erewash Borough Council's Pride in Erewash initiative is a fantastic campaign with the community at its heart. It aims to create a cleaner, greener and safer borough for our current residents and future generations. Now into its fourth year, the campaign is going from strength to strength with hundreds of residents, partners and volunteers taking part in environmental and community events throughout the year.
The campaign is the driving force behind projects such as the 'Adopt a Park' scheme, community clean-ups, graffiti removal, Erewash in Bloom, School Recycling and the successful 24-hour confidential ‘Pride Line’ which enable residents to report fly-tipping and other environmental crime.
Many successful projects have already been delivered as part of the Campaign, the aim of which is to develop a sense of respect and ownership of our environment and improve the quality of life for all in the Borough.
These Projects include:
Community Clean Ups
Graffiti Removal
Promoting Tidy Business Standards (Food on the Go)
Environmental Education Projects
Healthy Life Styles
Street Scene Improvements
Recycling
Erewash in Bloom
Adopt a Park
Pride Line
Festival of Light
Good Town Trader Awards
