Ilkeston Food Fair is quietly growing into something rather special. The brain child of Carol and Gordon Pringle, the first Ilkeston food fair was held in 2014 with 26 exhibitors and was a great success. The most recent fair in October 2016 attracted over 86 exhibitors and 1000's of visitors. Carol and Gordon are now excited to announce plans for a Traditional Christmas Market  on the 11th December  2016 at Ilkeston Rugby Club DE7 4AZ 10am to 4pm

The market will be opened to the rousing sound of The Long Eaton Silver Prize Band, a community based brass band organisation, which promotes and encourages live music within the borough of Erewash, encouraging  people of all ages to play or learn a musical instrument, targeting young and disadvantaged groups.

There will be Christmas Carols from The Imari Ladies choir and a rather special man will be in attendance with his real reindeer, giving both adults and children the fantastic opportunity of meeting the reindeer and learning all about them.

An artisan food, drink and craft market showcasing food from all corners of the world, real ale,  an English vodka maker, pickles and preserves will be joined by Masterchef finalist 2015 Pete Hewitt, and  a new exhibitor Jorge Artisan Foods which is run by professional chef George Bennett who has worked in the past with Jamie Oliver.
This is not just any food fair this is a food fair also joined by M&S and  together with live music from the talented Megan Kelsey, an 18 year old singer songwriter from Nottingham, and puppet shows guarantee a fun filled day out for all the family

A great chance to get into the spirit of Christmas and stock up on last minute gifts.

We are also proud to announce we are raising funds for the Brain Tumour Charity in memory of a friend taken suddenly and far too soon.
  • Entry £1
  • Carpark £1 ( All proceeds go to the local scouts and guides)
We also have an exhibitor who has had a grant from The Princes's Trust and the October event was his first ever event, his mentor and executive are coming to The Christmas Market.

Here is what Jason from Ruckabies has to say about the help he received

'The Prince's Trust is great, they help you think about so many things you may have not considered and offer constructive advice to get the best possible start. They have given me the start that I needed and offer an immense amount of encouragement and support and do everything they can to make sure we succeed. Both my mentor and executive will be coming in December for the Christmas event to offer support and try the food which is great and I am excited for them to see what their help has achieved.
