Good Town Trader Award Winners To Be Announced In January PDF Print E-mail

The scheme is organised by enterprise agency Erewash Partnership with the borough council’s Pride in Erewash campaign, and aims to highlight the attraction of shopping locally, particularly in the two town centres.

Businesses are nominated and voted for by customers and the winners will receive a trophy and certificate. Some businesses have won more than once and in different categories in previous promotions.

The ten categories in each town are: best restaurant/café; best pint and pub grub; best place to buy food; best customer service; most attractive market stall; most baby and child friendly trader; store most friendly to people with disabilities; cleanest shop front; best window display, and super sandwich.

Councillor Geoff Smith, borough council lead member for planning and regeneration, said: “These awards are important to the businesses and their owners because they are voted for by the most discerning of judges, the customers.

“We know from past experience that the winners are proud of their achievements and the votes of confidence from the people who matter most to any business.”
